Chair yoga is a gentle practice for Every BODY where poses are performed while seated and/or with the use of props.

This course will allow you to explore the accessibility and variety available with chair yoga. Rooted in the foundation of the Radiant Warrior flow, you will practice with three experienced yoga teachers bringing their own unique approaches to this accessible yoga practice.

We are delighted that you are longing to offer a gentle practice to those who find a traditional yoga session too challenging. It is truly a gift to be able to offer students ways to use a chair to provide support, stability, and strength in yoga.

This course will provide you with the tools and resources to plan and offer a class to students of ALL abilities.

Course Primary Outcomes:

  • Gain confidence in their ability to practice and teach chair yoga safely.

  • Have experience cueing the Radiant Warrior Chair Set list in a fully accessible fashion.

  • Apply the broader principles of traditional yoga to chair yoga practices.

We recommend you follow the course in a linear fashion and then go back and review anything that you would like to spend more time with.

Primary text for the course; Accessible Yoga by Jivana Heyman and a journal, notebook or binder with loose leaf paper.

  • 18 total lessons

  • 13 hours of content

  • 7 full length chair yoga classes

This course qualifies for you for 10 CEU hours with Yoga Alliance.

Zarra Leonard

Zarra’s journey to becoming a movement specialist started in 2018 when she earned her certification as a personal trainer through NETA.

Lynn has over 20 years teaching group fitness and holds RYT 200-hour and Spiritual Warrior 300-hour teaching certification through Yoga Farm Ithaca.
